Introduction
In a major leap forward for developer productivity and accessibility, SubQuery is proud to unveil the SubQuery GraphQL Agent. This powerful new AI tool enables users to interact with their indexed blockchain data using plain English.
Gone are the days of writing and debugging complex GraphQL queries. With the SubQuery GraphQL Agent, developers, analysts, and product teams can simply ask questions in natural language and get instant insights from their data - no coding required.
The GraphQL Agent works with any SubQuery project, whether it's indexing data from Ethereum, Solana, Polkadot, Cosmos, or any supported network. All a user needs is their Project CID and query URL. Once entered, the AI model scans the dataset and prepares it for natural language interactions.
From there, users can ask questions like:
“What are the top token holders over the past 24 hours?”
“How many transfers happened last week?”
“Which accounts interacted with this smart contract most frequently?”
The AI agent understands the context of your indexed data and translates your questions into precise GraphQL queries under the hood - instantly returning answers in real time.
Unlike traditional solutions, the SubQuery GraphQL Agent was designed from the ground up for seamless use with AI models. Here's how:
Most GraphQL APIs are simply too large and noisy for LLMs to handle effectively. This toolkit solves that with a novel approach: compressing your schema into only the essential entities and relationships, and combining it with PostGraphile v4 patterns for intelligent, pattern-based query construction.
This means faster results, higher accuracy, and significantly lower costs — all while maintaining compatibility with any SubQuery SDK-powered project.
When we set out to build this tool, we first searched the market for an AI solution that could sit on top of an existing GraphQL endpoint and translate natural language into meaningful queries, while understanding the unique structure of blockchain datasets. However, we quickly discovered that nothing like this existed. The tools we found either could not handle the SubQuery schema well, thereby being cumbersome and expensive, or required additional access and raised security concerns.
So we eventually decided to build it ourselves by combining SubQuery’s world-class indexing expertise with cutting-edge AI to create a seamless, production-ready agent that speaks the language of blockchain data.
The SubQuery GraphQL Agent is live and ready to test. Visit the demo, input your SubQuery project details, and start querying your data like never before. It's an intuitive experience that reduces the technical barrier to blockchain data analytics and opens up new possibilities for teams across all levels of expertise.
This innovative tool was developed in partnership with OnFinality, our long-time infrastructure collaborator. Their robust infrastructure and AI hosting capabilities helped bring the SubQuery GraphQL Agent to life.
Soon, OnFinality will offer a fully managed AI Agent hosting service, allowing teams to deploy their own SubQuery-powered community agents (like on Discord) in just a few clicks.
OnFinality AI Agents can also integrate additional sources like your website, documentation, and live blockchain calls - giving them all the context they need to provide accurate, helpful responses.
