The energy of DevCon 2024 was truly electric. The conference's attendance doubled since its last Bogotá edition with over 12,000 attendees. 

From packed side events to thought-provoking workshops, DevCon cemented itself as a must-attend event for developers and builders in the Ethereum ecosystem. Here’s a recap of the action-packed week and SubQuery Network’s involvement.

General Highlights from DevCon

A Developer-Centric Event

DevCon 2024 showcased the best of the Web3 community, drawing thousands of developers and builders eager to shape the future of blockchain technology. The event was highly oriented towards developers, with workshops, hackathons, and technical sessions fueling a collaborative atmosphere.

Trending Topics

Ethereum 3.0 and the current favourable market conditions brought an optimistic buzz to every conversation. Meanwhile, AI, DEPIN, and the emergence of DeSci (Decentralised Science) dominated discussions as the next frontiers of innovation.

Multi-Chain Indexing Workshop at Sub0 Reset

Our Head of Busines Development and Dev Rel, Marta Adamczyk led an insightful workshop on multi-chain indexing, sharing SubQuery’s expertise with attendees eager to optimize their projects.

Judging the OneBlock Polkadot Hackathon

Marta also represented SubQuery as a judge at the OneBlock Polkadot Hackathon, engaging with innovative projects that highlight the creative potential of Web3 developers.

DevCon was also an opportunity for SubQuery to strengthen relationships with key partners and customers. Some notable meetings included:

  • XION (Ecosystem Growth): Discussed ecosystem strategies and growth potential with Zé Atalaya, Ecosystem Lead.

  • Humanode: Met Victor, the co-founder, to dive deeper into Humanode’s goals.

While the energy of DevCon 2024 was unmatched, navigating Bangkok added an extra layer of adventure. The infamous traffic meant motorcycles and tuk-tuks became the go-to modes of transport, turning every journey into a story of its own. The community embraced the chaos with humor, sharing memes and tweets that perfectly captured the bustling spirit of the city.

One standout experience was discovering Bangkok's Chinatown—a vibrant, bustling area full of unique sights, smells, and flavors.
